Through the Homewood Comprehensive Community Plan, a Community Meeting was held on Thurs. Oct 5 2017 at YMCA with over 100 residents attending.  Mt Homewood activity was one of the stations at the community meeting where current residents could select 4 individuals (like Mt Rushmore) from Homewood that they felt resonated and represented Homewood as a way to honor and uplift the neighborhood's heritage and culture.  74 individual names were submitted, many of them receiving multiple nominations.

Simultaneously, three Homewood residents had been meeting trying to figure out a way to honor Homewood legacies by displaying banners in the business district.

9 names were selected by both the community and the banner team, leaving 5 names for YOU to vote on.  We have a list of 14 names to select from - developed through the community meeting and the banner team. 

These banners will be installed along the new pedestrian-scale light poles along N Homewood Ave from the Busway up to Hamilton Ave!  We appreciate your input!

Sean runs track and cross country at Westinghouse and hopes to carry that skill to Pitt or Penn State University.  He is also interested in the sciences and potentially becoming a business owner.
